Cellar tour and wine tasting
in the historic cellar
Beneath the historic MENA building in Marling is our experience cellar – a restored cellar that brings to life the history of winemaking, fruit growing and village life in the Merano region.
In carefully designed rooms, you'll discover original equipment, historical tools, and lovingly staged scenes from bygone eras. The tour is not a typical museum visit, but a personally guided journey through the development of our farm and the village community.
A sparkling wine awaits you as a welcome drink. To conclude, there will be the traditional "Hoamstanzer" – a small schnapps, as was customary in earlier times.

A public cellar tour takes place every Friday at 5 pm.
Duration: approx. 1½ hours
Price: €15 per person
Registration: via the Marling Tourist Association
In approximately 90 minutes, you'll experience a guided tour full of details, anecdotes, and insights into village life in bygone days. Many guests report hearing stories here that aren't found in any guidebook. Participation in this weekly tour is free for our hotel guests.

A unique wine tasting experience in the Merano region is our dark tasting. In complete darkness, you'll taste five carefully selected quality wines. Without visual stimuli, your senses will focus entirely on aroma, structure, and texture. This creates an intense and memorable taste experience that will surprise you.

The historic cellar can be rented exclusively for private celebrations – such as milestone birthdays, christenings, or small, intimate gatherings. The ambiance of the old cellar lends a special character to every celebration.
