Winter in the Merano region
Between Christmas markets, mountains and warm places to retreat
When the Merano region is enveloped in crisp winter air, a special atmosphere is created. Marling is centrally located between the spa town, mountains, and villages – ideal for varied winter days.
At MENA you live independently in your unit and can organize your stay at your own pace – whether for an extended Advent weekend, a few days of skiing or a relaxing break between autumn and spring.
Advent season in Merano and surroundings
The Christmas market in Merano is one of the most atmospheric in South Tyrol. Lights along the promenades, regional specialties and craft stalls characterize the atmosphere.
The Christmas market in Bolzano is also easily accessible. In addition, many smaller, more intimate Advent markets take place in the surrounding towns – often more regional, quieter, and more authentic.
Marling is a good starting point for connecting several markets.
Ski resorts around Marling
Those who want to actively enjoy the winter can reach several ski resorts in the Merano region in a short time:
-
Merano 2000
-
Schnalstal
-
Pfelders
-
Ulten
-
Depending on your preference, you can choose between sunny ski days, guaranteed snow at high altitude, or a family atmosphere.
Winter hiking & clear mountain air
Even without skis, the region offers plenty of opportunities. Winter hikes, sunny paths, and expansive views make this time of year particularly enjoyable. The Marlinger Waalweg (irrigation channel path) is accessible year-round and offers impressive perspectives of the Adige Valley.
Warmth after a winter day
After active hours outdoors, true winter comfort begins indoors. In our apartments in the main building, underfloor heating and a shower with soothing infrared heat ensure a pleasant feeling of warmth.
Those who wish to consciously take their time can exclusively book our private sauna in a separate bungalow – as a quiet retreat at their own pace.
The Merano thermal baths are also easily accessible from Marling and complement winter days in a relaxing way.
